Cornwall Funeral Services is a genuinely independent, family-run and family-focused firm. Directors Scott, Matt (Scott’s son), and close family friend Morgan complete the directors’ team.

SWS Back of Hearse

Because we are truly independent we have no distant ‘Head Office’, there is no bureaucracy to manage and you are guaranteed to deal with one of the local team, who will act only in your best interests.

All families and recently deceased loved ones are individual, so we believe every one of them deserves a unique, bespoke funeral. Our team will work closely with you to ensure your wishes are met. We will never upsell or push unnecessary additions towards you.

Part of what makes us different from other Funeral Directors is our diverse backgrounds and specialisms. With former careers between the Directors including Paramedic, musician, musical director, sound engineer and publican, our experience is wide-ranging.

Several of the Directors are still heavily involved in the arts in a number of ways, lending us the skills to create a range of tributes which can make any funeral ceremony a little more personal or memorable.

From video presentations and photo montages, multiple camera broadcast standard webcasting, to bespoke recordings of unpublished music, nothing is unachievable.

This page shows just a few examples of what we are able to offer. These are purely for illustration – please call us to discuss your requirements.

In April 2020 during the first Lockdown of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the CFS team with friends from the Amateur Dramatic circuit were amongst the first in the UK to bring musicians together from their own homes.

We expected 50 or so contributions from local musicians and singers and were overwhelmed when 200+ performers sent in videos.

The end result was the first Lockdown Cornwall video, ‘One Day More’, which has accrued 49,000 views on YouTube (as of 02/2024).

Also due to Covid-19, Treswithian Downs Crematorium were unable to host their annual Evening of Remembrance and Carols in the usual way, so they turned to us for help.

Thanks to very generous friends and colleagues we were able to arrange audio and video recordings of Christmas Carols, with each singer recording in their own home.

In our purpose-built studio using expertise gained through previous careers we were able to edit and mix the audio and video of each Carol, before stitching them together to give the final product.
